Sweet Aroma

What's the perfect night cap to a fabulous evening???...walking into your house and smelling the sweet aroma of cat shit/piss...what a horrible ending. Otis has officially out stayed his welcome. I don't think I have ever smelt something so horrid. Apparently, he decided to spray piss and shit all over a shelf in Marc's closet. I will be calling the pet resource we got him from tomorrow to have him taken back.

I just DON'T do shit...if I did, we would have gotten a dog. I'm not looking forward to Jasmine returning to her full of piss and vinegar personality (all my scratches have healed up since she gained a friend to beat up on) but I'll just have to deal with it. At least she can use the damn litter box. Hopefully Oreo will get the stick out of his ass and accept her sooner than later.

Today was a great day, although it didn't go as planned. Nicholas woke up with a fever and sore throat so I kept him home for the day. Aspen wasn't exactly happy to have to go to school while Nicholas got to stay home...but she didn't put up too much of a fuss. Here's something that makes absolutely no sense. I haven't been able to get Aspen to school on time in weeks (always 5-10 minutes late) but today I got her there a few minutes early. How did I manage to do that when I had two kids instead of one?

I actually really enjoyed the short time I got to spend alone with Nicholas. We watched Freddy together...we both agreed that the other two couldn't handle it. He was such a sweetie. I made him some soup after we returned from picking up Aspen and I fed it to him on the couch. When he was done he said to me, "I love you mommy, your the best." It made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. Nicholas isn't exactly the affectionate type but I could tell he wanted to be close to me.
I don't know who was more disappointed about having to cancel my lunch date with Meredith...Aspen or me. I felt like all my plans for the day got put on hold. I just stayed home all day and cared for Nicholas until I had to go to class. I even ended up taking a 20 minute cat nap. It felt so good that I decided that I am just going to sleep the first year that Aspen goes to school all day...I will have 9 years of sleep deprivation to catch up on by that time.

Thankfully, Nicholas improved throughout the day. I get so scared at the first sign of fever with this swine flu bug going around. Aspen and Blake have also had a fever once during the last 10 days. All have only lasted about half a day. But every time I have mentally prepared myself, "This could get real ugly."

Besides the cat shit...my evening was very pleasent. A couple of girls and I closed down Fandango's. I really enjoy their company. It's so nice when you meet people that you just click with...it makes the friendship so easy. I never thought a majority of my friends would be people I met through my children. Just one of the many joys they have brought into my life.
