Shitty BUT Great

Nicholas ended up staying home from school again today. His fever just won’t break. It can be difficult when you have a child that HAS to stay home, yet appears fine. Unfortunately it was not another day of resting on the couch…I had too much to do today. I ended up dragging Nicholas and Aspen to the hair salon...getting my hair done before my birthday trip was a MUST. Nicholas decided to make me pay for my selfishness.

In less than two hours time both kids contaminated Tara’s salon with the majority of human bodily fluids. Nicholas picked his nose which caused it to bleed…BAD. That kid gets the worst bloody noses, I swear. Anyway, he didn’t tell me. Instead he attempted to take care of it himself. With no success, he finally came out of the bathroom so I could see blood gushing out of his hand. That was nothing compared to the mess in the bathroom. The sink, fixtures, trashcan, doorknob (pretty much EVERYTHING) was tainted with blood. BUT…he DIDN’T get any on the carpet…I have trained him well ;)

It wasn’t long after that Aspen decided to join in the fun. Nicholas might have even still had tissue wadded up in his nose. They were playing and Aspen ran away from him into the bathroom (I don’t think Nicholas knew she actually had to go). Instead of leaving her alone, he followed her and tried to open the door. She was on the other side trying to hold the door closed. She popped her head out and told me she pooped her pants…ugh. She NEVER poops her pants (unless she’s with Meredith lol…when she’s with her she is just too content). Although it wasn’t much…it was enough. I sat her on the toilet so she could go pee (she managed not to piss her pants) and finish what she started. She started to pee and it sprayed out of the toilet onto the floor :( It was the worst hair appointment of my life.

However, if that is what I had to go through to ensure a picture perfect evening…it was worth the cleanup. We tried out the new hibachi place by Target. The service wasn’t that great, but the food was good. The kids were on their BEST behavior. I haven’t enjoyed Aspen’s company like that at a restaurant in a loooooong time. She was so courteous and entertaining. It’s amazing how much prettier she is when she is friendly.

After dinner we walked over to Target so the boys could spend their allowance. Why is it that when you say they CAN’T have something they want EVERYTHING, but when you say they CAN pick something out they CAN’T decide??? Nicholas is actually easy…I think he just picks the first thing he comes across that looks fun. Blake, on the other hand, takes forever. He stresses over the decision. He finally decided on Sorry Sliders and Nicholas got a light bright.
