We haven’t had the best weather thus far. It was kind of crappy when we drove in on Saturday. It really didn’t matter though, it was dinner time and we spent a good two hours waiting and dining at Clementine’s. Sunday was a nice day. The kids and I spent some quality time on the beach. The condo has private beach access but it’s also close to the public beach. The snack stand is a short walk away and the kids were thrilled when I treated them to ice cream in the sand.
The weather stunk so bad yesterday that we drove back to Kalamazoo with Marc and spent the afternoon at home. Marc and the boys were supposed to go salmon fishing but it was cancelled due to the storm, Blake was especially disappointed. I don’t know where the day went, but I felt like I spent all day just going and going. I also took some time to help the boys work on some school work. I think all of us enjoyed just relaxing at home…the kids played really well together.
Today was a beautiful day in South Haven. Marc drove into Kzoo before the rest of us were even awake. I made us a yummy breakfast and then we headed down to the beach. The location of the condo is perfect because you can leave all your stuff on the beach if you want to head back inside for a while and keep an eye on it from the balcony. When the kids got hungry we just walked up, ate, and walked back down. It is TOO convenient…I will forever be spoiled now.
The kids played so well together in the water…I was able to get a lot of reading done. I ALSO went into Lake Michigan for the FIRST time…EVER. It is always too cold for me, but not this year…it actually felt refreshing. I took turns pulling the kids on a boogie board…they LOVED it. The waves were still pretty big and seeing who could catch the biggest one became a challenging game. I felt like a really fun mommy today frolicking in the water and building sand castles with them.
We came home this evening so that I could have some time off tomorrow. I only have two Wednesdays (free days) left before our big RV adventure and I HAVE to get some stuff done before we go. I did watch the last episodes of Daisy of Love this evening…what a waste of ten hours of my life. She ended up with who I thought she would the whole time…I should have just jumped to the last episode five episodes ago. Oh well…at least I can say that it is out of my system now and I won’t be giving the show any more thought ;)
