The past week flew by. The boys were finally able to go on their chartered fishing trip in South Haven on Monday. They caught eight huge salmon. Nicholas surprisingly had a good time, maybe there is just a bit of fishing blood in him. Blake LOVED it, of course. It was so cute getting them up and ready before dawn…they were so tired but so eager to get going as well.
Once we got to the fair we had a GREAT evening. We rode some real thrillers with the boys. I loved Blake’s famous words when the “scary” rides were getting ready to go…”There’s NO turning back now.” Aspen was disappointed AGAIN that she couldn’t ride the flying swings. I can’t wait to take her on for the first time when she is tall enough. Nicholas was a really good big brother and joined her on some of the kiddie rides.
We dropped off the kids with Garnett so we could get a little break in before having them for eighteen days all to ourselves. I felt a little bad leaving Blake, he got so upset and tears formed in his eyes when I hugged him goodbye. It’s a good thing we left them though…I got one of the worst phone calls on our way home. Some crazy stuff was happened in Las Vegas and it was best that I didn’t have to hold myself together for the kids’ sake.
I know some of you are eager to hear about Friday nights “adult” get together. But really there isn’t much to say. There was a LOT of drama involved (which I didn’t need due to the craziness I went through the night before). However, the first few hours were pretty good. Marc and Shawn grilled some shrimp and the salmon that the boys caught…it was so DeLisH. I was smart and didn’t go on ANY golf cart rides with female drivers. Meredith was too eager to outdo Crystal’s tip and I was too scared to have any part of it (I know I was lucky to “walk” away the first time).

I did the usual…ate too little, drank too much, and felt like ass in the morning. With all the drama at the end of the night I just kind of forgot to eat before I went to bed (I just wanted to escape from it all). I didn’t have the pleasure of sleeping all day on Saturday…I had a big trip to get ready for. There was so much that needed to get packed and organized before the kids arrived that afternoon. But I got it all done…like I always do. I am looking very forward to not having a lick of alcohol for more than two weeks.
