Seriously, there really is. I was pulling into the driveway after picking the boys up from camp and there was this little creature in our driveway. At first I thought it was Biggles, but then it walked up to the garage and I saw it was a baby raccoon. It’s about the size of a kitten. I went into the house to grab a towel and then came back and swooped him up. He was so happy to be wrapped in a warm towel (it’s in the 60’s) and he was making the sweetest sounds. I even found myself rocking him (I’m not experiencing baby fever or anything). We put him in our bathtub and gave him some bread…the kids really want to keep him as our new pet. That may have been fine (he WAS so sweet), but we ran to Best Buy with the kids and when we came back he was all mean and growling at us. I see, he gets all warm and fuzzy with a full belly and turns into a little asshole. He can obviously fend for himself so his ass is back out tomorrow.
You just never know what we are going to bring home. We are the DeForest Animal Rescue. Marc pulled over near our driveway on Monday evening to rescue a baby bird in the road. It was really close to flying. The boys were so excited to get worms for it on Tuesday. Unfortunately, while they were at camp I left the garage door open and let the cats out. When I took Aspen in the garage to show her the baby I saw the box was tipped over and there was no sign of the bird...ooops. I told the boys that he must have learned to fly and got out of the box. Blake’s not really buying my story, “Mom, how can he learn to fly in just ONE day…come on, he can’t not fly yesterday and be in a tree now”. Oh well, I AM sticking to my story…I will just have to come up with a better one next time. Blake is too positive that the cats ate him and is disappointed with me :(
I had Marc take me to see The Proposal today…such a cute movie. We both really liked it. I could watch anything with Ryan Reynolds in it and probably enjoy it. And you pretty much get to see most of him :) He might be the only brown eyed boy I have ever been attracted to. I don’t even know what it is really; there is nothing that really stands out about him. He’s kind of plain…BUT he IS tall AND has a HOT body; AND he’s always cute AND witty ;).
