I am kinda moley. It makes me think of Larry the Cable Guy's skit about his Aunt Moley or whatever...luckily I will never be an aunt. But I don't want to be Grandma Moley either. Can't they just come up with some treatment to make them disappear already. Marc has more than the normal person too...so are kids are pretty screwed. The boys are already getting "beauty marks".Anyways, Aspen is obsessed with my moles. There is one in particular that she messes with all the time. She'll tease me, "I've got your mole". Aspen is also obsessed these days with being naked. And it's not just being naked, but it's doing these silly dances and saying that she's naked girl. The boys have always been fascinated with their "parts" and I think they showed her a few too many tricks. She was walking around for a while talking about her nuts all the time. I had to explain to her that we girls don't have "nuts".
Aspen has since found her little nub and guess what she thinks it is??? A MOLE!!! She says, "Look at my mole mommy", or "Can I play with my mole"?...ummm NO!!! What makes it really bad was when we were at a birthday party today she decided to play with her "mole" in front of some other kids. Sigh - thankfully it was only a close group of our friends left, but it was still completely embarrassing. And then she even tells the tween girl that her mommy taught her that...thanks Aspen. I can't get the image of Jen carrying her out and telling me what my daughter was doing :( And Jay's description...oh well, I am sure Meredith and I will be laughing about it for years :) Aspen and I had a big talk when we came home so hopefully that will be the end of it.
What a birthday party weekend...three parties in two days. Marc took the kids to his brother's party in Jackson yesterday. I decided to stay behind and enjoy the pool with a couple girlfriends. It was so fun and relaxing. I LOVE girl time :) I learned a lot about some of the girls and we all shared some silly stories. After they left I just enjoyed a very quiet house. I rarely ever get it to myself. Most of the girls that were over were also moms that are usually counting heads constantly at the pool. Between just three of us there are usually nine kids. Rachel treated us to champagne mojitos...I think they are my new summer drink. YUM!!!
Today was my day. I took the kids to two birthday parties while Marc layed low at the house. I pretty much knew he wasn't going to go today which was another reason I didn't go yesterday. We started with one at the Nature Center from 1 - 3:30 PM. The kids got to learn about and touch snakes. From there we went to Meredith's for Eloise's party. We were there until 10PM. We would have probably been later (the kids were playing so well and didn't want to leave) but the boys have camp tomorrow. It's reasons like these that they get upset at me for signing them up. Oh well, it's good for them and sometimes I just need a breather :) But I have to admit, I was bummed too. The adults were having just as much fun as the kids. Sarah and I were corn hole champions for awhile :) I would have liked to gain the title back :)
