Done till May

I have already accomplished so much this week and it’s only Wednesday :). I took my Human Sexuality final exam last night and finished great…A+ of course. I REALLY enjoyed that class. I “almost” wish there was a part two…I think there is still so much to be learned. My practicum also finished up over the weekend. It was interesting as well but VERY time consuming…it will NOT be missed. I have decided to take next semester off for some “me” time. The thought of graduating at 30 has become more overwhelming than exciting. I just don’t want to start my 30’s stressing out...getting old is enough to deal with for now. I want to look back and remember 30 as being a carefree and happy time.

I finished up all my Christmas shopping for the family today. That’s very unusual for me…I am normally one of those last minute shoppers. I can’t wait for the kids to wake up Christmas morning. I LOVE Christmas!!! However, I won’t be a stranger to the stores just yet. We always adopt a couple families each year and buy for them. Each class at the boys’ school also adopts a family from Family Services and we contribute a lot to those as well. I am more than half way done with that though too. Shopping for families in need has become one of my favorite ways to celebrate the season. It feels so good to give those less fortunate a Christmas to remember. I have committed myself, per usual, to a task that seemed like a good idea at the time but is now turning into quite the chore. I decided to do a little Christmas craft with the kids. We are making Snowman soup for their classes. Each of them was over it after about five…that leaves me with about 35 to finish up by myself :(. I also decided to write a letter to slip in with our Christmas cards. The letter itself was rather easy to write, but I didn’t think of all the extra folding it would incur. Oh well, I think I keep myself busy with such mundane tasks because I must subconsciously know I revel in the rewards of accomplishment.

However, my little tasks will have to wait until morning. I will have to remind myself about that light at the end of the tunnel (accomplishment) when my alarm goes off at 5 AM tomorrow (about five hours from now) so I can finish stamping snowmen and snowflakes. Although I LOVE the feeling of finishing something that I started…I love girl time and good wine even more :). I snuck out this evening to meet up with some girlfriends for dinner at Chinn Chinn. I asked our server for the sweetest white wine they had and I was given the most delicious nectar to ever grace my lips. It is said that Mountain Dew is the nectar of the Gods and I am positive that Moscati is the nectar of a Goddess.
