Last night was Marc's company party and I am sure it will be a night left to remember due to yours truly. Everyone has a limit, and I reached mine rather quickly last night...oops. I'll just get right to the good stuff. The party was at Center Ice and it had everyone from S2 Arena, SWAT, Center Ice, and his Kalamazoo based office present. I ended up getting into it with a young "girl"...not of drinking age anyways. In my defense, she needed a wake up call and put in her place...there's no one more perfect to handle that job then moi ;).
The night started out great. Marc and I mingled a bit before we settled into a high top with another couple. Marc got up for some reason and this girl came over to take his spot so she could talk to the girl I was sitting with. Now, I didn't have a problem with her taking his spot OR the flirtatious look/giggle she gave him, BUT the way she looked at ME was uncalled for and she's lucky I gave her a free pass "that" time. I don't know how else to describe "the look" except that it was definitely a challenge. She wanted me to know that she "meant" to disrespect me.I tried to let her NOT get the best of me and even went to the bathroom a few minutes later. Our mutual friend came in a bit after me and honestly I was already over it. She even apologized for the girl and gave me the whole, "She's just young" speech. Honestly, that's not a good enough excuse for me AND if that's the case, there is NO time for a lesson in "adulthood" like the present.
All was well UNTIL we crossed paths again. She and her girlfriend wanted a picture with Marc...which was fine. I didn't even mind the flirtations BUT she gave me the stink eye again...WTF. I had to settle it then and there. I tried to keep my composure and just tell her I thought she was VERY disrespectful, but her denial sent me over the edge. I was effin pissed and my words got ugly pretty fast. Do I regret confronting her...NO!!! Do I regret allowing all the garbage to flow freely from my mouth...YES!!! However, she probably won't fuck with me again ;). I have too much respect for myself to just allow some "girl" to treat me like that at a public event and just sweep it under the rug. I'm sure Marc wishes I wasn't so confrontational.
The remainder of the evening was pretty uneventful BUT fun. Marc coaxed me into getting up on the bar and dancing with some other girls. Thankfully, I didn't fall off. I DID end up drinking too much and eating too little. I was puking outside by the end of the night :(. It wasn't too bad though...it wasn't one of those heaving...never going to be able to drink patron again evenings. However, I think wine will be my drink of choice for a little while ;).
Actually, we were both pretty lit last night according to his picture :)
